Pueblo County’s air quality the focus of Wednesday night discussion

How does Pueblo County’s air quality affect local families? You can get the answer to that Wednesday evening as a panel of experts discuss the topics and reveal the findings of health opinion survey.

The Denver-based nonprofit Center for Health Progress is putting on a community forum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Patrick Lucero Library at 1315 East 7th St. in Pueblo.

The panelists are expected to include:

Pueblo County ranks 51st out of 58 counties for health outcomes this year, including air quality issues, according to database funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute.

Air quality is tough on people with breathing problems, especially children and older folks, but it’s also a major environmental cause of diseases and premature death.
