The Colorado Springs Gazette editorial: City Council should approve more open carry – of liquor – in Colorado Springs

When Colorado Springs Councilwoman Jill Gaebler talks open carry, she doesn’t mean wearing a fashionable Glock 19.

She wants to appease the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership’s request for a law allowing open carry of alcohol on select city sidewalks during special events.

It sounds like old west Dodge City, with drunkards urinating on fire hydrants and starting brawls in the streets.

But that is not what Gaebler and the partnership have in mind.
