The Pueblo Chieftain editorial: Label carefully

I know that Emily Price means well in her columns and she tries to look at the better side of mankind as shown in her recent column about co-existing.

However, I think that her assertion that we don’t actually need to label and categorize in modern times is a bit Pollyannish.

Don’t we still teach our children things like, be conscious of your surroundings, good touch bad touch, if a situation feels wrong then avoid it, see something say something, and shouldn’t we heed our own advice as we go about our daily lives?

The assessments that we make at any given time and in any given situation are based on those subtle cues that were used by our ancestors to stay alive just as Price described in her editorial.
