Time to push voters to vote

The presidential candidates and their surrogates are making Colorado appearances right and left as the final countdown to Election Day enters the last few days.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump returns to the state for a 9:30 p.m. rally Saturday, Nov. 5, at the National Western Complex in Denver. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Find ticket information here.

Meanwhile, former President Bill Clinton is to be at Union Depot in Pueblo, then in Colorado Springs Friday, Nov. 4, to campaign for his wife, Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate for president.

In response, the Trump campaign released a statement from U.S. Rep. Ken Buck, (R-CO4):

“Bill Clinton is in Colorado lobbying against the anti-corruption reforms Donald Trump is proposing. The Clintons are running away from justice, with federal investigators close behind.”

U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro, his twin brother, U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, and women’s health advocate Cecile Richards will campaign in Colorado for Hillary Clinton today, Friday, Nov. 4, to urge voters to return their ballots.

The Castro brothers will launch volunteer events in Aurora and Longmont and will join U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter for a canvas launch in Westminster. Richards will attend a Get Out The Vote event at the University of Denver, drop by a Denver field office, and kick off a phone bank in Centennial.

So far, more voters have voted in Colorado this year than at this point in 2012, and the Castro brothers and Richards will urge Coloradans to continue that trend and return their ballots early.

A Clinton Get Out The Vote bus tour will visit Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Buena Vista and Alamosa, kicking off volunteer canvasses and phone banks and encouraging Coloradans to return their ballot or vote in person.

On Saturday, Nov. 5, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will campaign for Clinton at an afternoon Get Out the Vote rally at the Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center, Colorado College, 825 N. Cascade Ave. in Colorado Springs. Doors open at 3 p.m. The public is asked to RSVP here.
