Jensen: Hillary’s bloodless coup

Hillary and Debbie Wasserman Schultz did not simply conspire to cheat Bernie Sanders supporters out of an election.

It was a coup. A bloodless political coup.

For quite a few months, political observers have wondered why the Democratic National Committee, run by Hillary co-conspirator Wasserman Schultz, hasn’t engaged in voter registration drives around the country prior to Hillary winning the nomination.

Millions of Hispanics and young people are ripe for the Democratic registration machine, yet no coordinated effort has occurred.

Yet.

Now that Hillary is the nominee, the DNC will recruit on all fronts, especially young people.

Considering the fact that the leaked emails prove the Democratic National Committee was working as a front for Hillary, it would not make any sense for the supposedly unbiased organization to recruit young voters until she was clearly the nominee.

Young liberal voters are Bernie Sanders voters, not “Crooked Hillary” voters.

This is just one of the ways the committee conspired to ensure Hillary would be the nominee.

Remember, the Democratic National Committee is supposed to be supportive of all Democratic candidates, which is why Wasserman Schultz was forced to resign when leaked emails show her team conspired to propagandize Bernie as an atheist and other sleazy tactics.

Remember news stories describing the Sanders campaign as “a mess” after a glitch on the committee’s servers gave it access to Clinton voter data?

That came from communications official Mark Paustenbach, “Wondering if there’s a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never ever had his act together, that his campaign was a mess.”

Responding to an email in which a committee member complained about Bernie saying he’d fire Wasserman Schultz after he was inaugurated, Wasserman Schultz displayed her knowledge of the outcome, writing, “This is a silly story,” she wrote. “He isn’t going to be president.”

She should know. She’s the coup commandant. And she was right. The fix was in.

At the Nevada Democratic Convention, Hillary’s team infamously shut down the entire meeting when it appeared Bernie was going to beat Hillary in a second round of delegate voting.

You see, at one point a little after 2 p.m. during the Nevada State Convention, Hillary had 1,693 delegates and Bernie had 1,662.

Hillary led by 31.

However, there were 58 delegates who waited to get into the Paris Casino, get their badges and cast votes – all for Bernie.

Prefacing this scandalous event, Roberta Lange, the Nevada State Chair, appointed her own people to committees that refused these 58 to be certified to vote for Bernie. A total of 64 were rejected.

Without a quorum, Roberta pushed through rules that put her in charge of the state convention without a vote.

These rules gave her the power to appoint every officer who interprets and enforces the rules, appoint every member of the committees who count the votes and decide which delegates are registered, and the power to have absolute authority to decide which motions to recognize, who may speak, and to decide who the winner is in any voice vote.

These rules were contested by Bernie supporters to no avail.

When conventioneers became upset that it was obvious that there would be no second vote including the 58 additional Bernie delegates and Hillary was going to be the nominee no matter what the votes were, Roberta went to the stage microphone and called for a voice vote on ending the convention, accepting the first vote for Hillary.

When she said, “All in favor, say ‘aye’,” the room erupted into ‘Nays,’ decidedly overpowering any ‘ayes.’

When she said, “All opposed, say ‘nay,’ the crowd nearly brought down the roof in roaring disapproval.

In the style of Shakespearean comedy, she shouted, “The ‘ayes’ have it” and reminded the audience that the decision of the chair is final.

She strutted off the stage to the rhythm of the crowd’s anguished cacophony, mission accomplished.

Should Hillary be elected President, we’ll be scanning the news to see if Lange becomes ambassador to Bermuda or Sweden.

She earned it.

This comedic tragedy perfectly represents the Hillary coup: crass corruption.

Reagan: Forgiving John Hinckley

A federal judge has ruled that John Hinckley Jr., the mentally disturbed man who tried to assassinate my father 35 years ago, will be set free in about a week. Many people, including members of my own family, think it’s a terrible injustice that Hinckley, now 61, will be allowed to leave the mental hospital […]

Duran: Day Four at DNC 2016: What define's us?

On the final day of the 2016 Democratic National Convention, I was asked to address the convention. Speaking on the night that Hillary Clinton made history as the first woman to ever accept the nomination of a major political party was without a doubt one of the greatest honors of my life. I will never […]
