Broncos fans take note: Most GOP candidates for president chose Panthers to win
Panthers win. At least that was the sentiment of the majority of the Republican presidential candidates in Saturday night’s ABC debate hosted at St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire. The pandering burners were turned up on high with at least one candidate, Ted Cruz, admitting so when asked who he would pick to win Super Bowl 50.
“With an eye to Feb. 20, Carolina,” said the Texas Senator — Feb. 20 is the day of the South Carolina primary — coming out of Iowa as the top dog with his win in the caucuses. But being top of the heap in Iowa has not translated in the New Hampshire polls for Cruz, with the most recent polling showing Trump in the lead by double digits to second place Sen. Marco Rubio.
The other candidates? Most of them also chose the Panthers. In fact, all but New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush picked Carolina to win the big game. Ben Carson stayed out of it altogether, dodging the question with a joke. “It will either be Denver or Carolina,” he quipped.
Jeb Bush noted he picked Denver because Peyton Manning is supporting his candidacy.
