Calling her a “MAGA Warrior,” President Donald Trump this week endorsed U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert’s reelection bid in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, the state’s most heavily Republican seat.

The staunch Trump ally is seeking a fourth term in Congress next year. A former restaurant owner and Second Amendment activist, Boebert was elected to two terms representing the Western Slope-based 3rd Congressional District in 2020 and 2022 before moving across the state last year to run for the safer seat, which covers Douglas County and the Eastern Plains.

“Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is an America First Patriot, who is doing an incredible job representing Colorado’s 4th Congressional District!” Trump posted on Truth Social, the social media platform he controls.

“A MAGA Warrior, who has been with us from the very beginning,” Trump said, “Lauren is working hard to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Advance American Energy DOMINANCE by helping to keep the price of Gasoline, Oil, and all forms of Energy VERY LOW (CHEAP!), Secure our now VERY Secure (Record Setting!) Southern Border, Support our Military/Veterans, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment.”

Using one of his signature phrases, Trump concluded: “Lauren Boebert has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!”

In late April, Trump endorsed first-term Republican U.S. Rep. Gabe Evans for reelection in the 8th Congressional District, the state’s most competitive congressional seat, using nearly identical language. 

It’s the fourth election cycle Boebert has landed an endorsement from Trump and arrived months earlier than previous statements of support.

In the summer of 2020, after Boebert defeated the Trump-endorsed incumbent, five-term U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton, in the GOP primary, Trump quickly threw his support behind Boebert, saying, “She’s taken our country by storm — she’s taken me by storm.”

Although Boebert faced nearly a dozen fellow Republicans in last year’s primary in her adopted district, she appears to be on a glide path to the GOP nomination this time, without any primary opponents in sight.

Five Democrats are vying for the chance to challenge Boebert, including 2024 nominee Trisha Calvarese and first-time candidate Eileen Laubacher, a retired rear admiral and top National Security Council staffer in the Biden administration.

Boebert welcomed Trump’s latest endorsement Tuesday in posts on social media sites.

“I look forward to continuing to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN alongside President Trump!” she said on X. “It is my great honor to have his complete and total endorsement for a fourth time! I won’t let you down, @realDonaldTrump.”

While Trump lost Colorado to Democrat Joe Biden in 2020 by a 13.5 percentage point margin, the Republican carried the vote within the boundaries of the 4th CD by 18.6 points.
