Colorado city ranked among ‘worst run’ in the US after 36 data points crunched
A report was recently published by Wallet Hub aimed at determining which cities across the country were considered to be the ‘best run,’ or best managed, by local leadership.
In order to complete the data analysis, the nation’s 148 most-populated cities were compared across 36 key metrics split into six greater categories – financial stability, education, health, safety, economy, and infrastructure and pollution. Three Colorado cities met the criteria to be included in the report – Colorado Springs, Aurora, and Denver.
Once the numbers were crunched, no Colorado city made the cut to be included in the top 10 – or the top 25, or the top 50.
The first Colorado city to make an appearance was Colorado Springs, ranking 59th overall among the 148 cities included in the report. Meanwhile, Aurora ranked 96th and Denver ranked 134th. One factor that really hurt Denver was how it tied for a 146th-place rank in the ‘long-term debt outstanding per capita’ metric.
The ‘best run’ city nationwide was determined to be Provo, Utah, while the ‘worst run’ city nationwide was deemed to be San Francisco.
