ROSE ANDOM CENTER

Denver

News: Whitney Woods, whose 20 years of leadership experience includes key roles in the nonprofit, for-profit and government sectors, has been appointed executive director of the Rose Andom Center.

“Whitney’s background and skillset will be invaluable in navigating the Rose Andom Center through the complex challenges facing nonprofits today,” said Alana Watkins, chair of the center’s board of directors. “Her passion and vision will ensure our organization continues to thrive in its mission to serve survivors for years to come.”

Most recently, Woods was vice president of operations and brand for Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, where she oversaw multi-state operations, managed a large-scale budget and spearheaded initiatives to enhance efficiency, stakeholder engagement and community impact.

Prior to moving to Denver and joining Planned Parenthood, Woods resided in the Washington, D.C., area and held positions that included serving as director of communications for U.S. Sens. Heidi Heitkamp and Joseph Lieberman and as a senior associate at ASGK Public Strategies, leading accounts in the healthcare, labor, defense, nutrition and energy sectors.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and international politics and global conflict analysis and resolution from George Mason University and a Master of Arts degree in public administration and applied economics from the University of Texas at Arlington.

“I am deeply honored and grateful to the board of directors for entrusting me with the opportunity to serve as executive director of the Rose Andom Center,” said Woods. “The mission of this organization is deeply personal to me, and I’m continually inspired by the resilience and strength of survivors.”

About the organization: The Rose Andom Center is Colorado’s first family justice center. It is a survivor-centered, trauma-informed collaborative that cultivates hope for individuals and families impacted by intimate partner violence and sexual assault. At the center, organizations and agencies work together under one roof to provide access to resources such as legal assistance, counseling and housing support.
