Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announces three new housing grant recipients
Gov. Jared Polis and the Office of Economic Development and International Trade have announced the selection of three new recipients for the state’s Innovative Housing Incentive Program. Together, the three recipients are set to create more than 480 new housing units across Colorado, contributing to the state’s effort to tackle housing challenges and increase affordable living options.
“We need more housing now, and this new round of IHIP grant funding will help create 480 new housing units for Coloradans,” said Polis. “With more housing, more people will be able to live in terrific communities close to work and recreation.”
This round’s recipients are:
- 3D West, a Colorado Springs-based company that provides pre-manufactured building units for accessory dwelling units, affordable housing, and multifamily units. The company has been approved for up to $100,000 for a project in partnership with Alquist 3D and StructureBot to construct four housing units.
- BYLD, a Commerce City-based software and hardware company that provides a unique “paint-by-numbers” construction approach. The company has been approved for up to $722,000 in per-unit cash rewards for constructing over 350 housing units across the state over the next three years.
- Studio Shed, a Louisville-based manufacturer that specializes in backyard sheds, accessory dwelling units, and multifamily housing. The company has been approved to receive up to $180,000 in performance-based grant funding at $1,500 per unit.
The Innovative Housing Incentive Program has awarded a total of 12 grants that have facilitated the creation of 2,000 housing units across the state over the past two years.
