New grants announced for Outdoor Regional Partnerships Initiative in Colorado

Gov. Jared Polis, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Great Outdoors Colorado have announced the newest recipients of grants through the Outdoor Regional Partnerships Initiative, including two new partnerships in southern Colorado. 

Established in 2021 through an Executive Order, the Initiative provides funding to regional coalitions focused on balancing conservation and outdoor recreation across the state. Currently, there are 20 Outdoor Regional Partnerships, covering about 75% of the state.

“We celebrate the most recent grant recipients for the Outdoor Regional Partnerships Initiative, a cornerstone in our efforts to foster sustainable outdoor recreation and conservation across Colorado,” said Jeff Davis, the director for CPW. “The success of these partnerships reflects the dedication of communities across Colorado to steward their natural resources and recreation opportunities.”

This grant cycle increases the amount of money invested into the Partnerships to $4.9 million, with another round of funding opening in the fall. This round’s grant recipients include Eagle County Community Wildlife Roundtable, Central Colorado Recreation Partnership, Montelores Coalition, Northwest Colorado Outdoor Coalition, Outdoor Pikes Peak Initiative, Pagosa Area Recreation Coalition, Roaring Fork Outdoor Coalition, Southeast Colorado Recreation Outdoor Alliance Movement, And West Slope Outdoors Alliance.
