GOP candidate Nikki Haley to host rally in Colorado

Republican candidate Nikki Haley, who has vowed to keep fighting presumptive nominee Donald Trump, is hosting a rally in Colorado next week.

Colorado voters began receiving presidential primary ballots last week.

Haley, a former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, will host a rally at Wings over the Rockies Exploration of Flight at 13005 Wings Way in Centennial on Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m.

The two-hour event is free and open to the public but requires a reservation.

Haley on Tuesday told The Associated Press that she will not leave the Republican primary election regardless of Saturday’s result in South Carolina. And backed by the strongest fundraising numbers of her political career, she vowed to stay in the fight against Trump at least until after Super Tuesday’s slate of more than a dozen contests on March 5.

“Ten days after South Carolina, another 20 states vote. I mean, this isn’t Russia. We don’t want someone to go in and just get 99% of the vote,” Haley said. “What is the rush? Why is everybody so panicked about me having to get out of this race?”

In Colorado, the latest data from the Secretary of State’s Office puts unaffiliated voters at 48%, Democrats at 27% and Republicans at 24%.

Trump remains the lead GOP candidate in the state, even closing the gap in a head to head match against President Joe Biden compared to his performance in 2020, according to a poll.

In a head-to-head matchup between Biden and Trump, the Democrat won 47% of the vote, compared to Trump’s 40%, according to the annual Colorado Political Climate Survey.

In 2020, the Colorado Political Climate Survey painted a different picture, with Biden winning 47% of the vote and Trump finishing with 37%.
