Colorado Business Committee for the Arts
Denver
News: Northglenn Mayor Meredith Leighty; Brian Loo, vice president of operations development, quality and standards at Meow Wolf; and Maye Cordero, director of marketing and events for the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, are among the seven that have been elected to the board of the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts.
The board now has 28 members, the majority of whom are from historically marginalized communities.
CBCA executive director Christin Crampton Day points out that in 2022 the organization committed to making the selection of board members more equitable and transparent by seeking individuals who bring geographic, gender and ethnic diversity to the organization – all of which is reflected in the most recent appointments.
The new members are:
Kristin Bronson, who after serving six years as Denver City Attorney, became executive director of the Colorado Lawyers Committee in May, 2023. She has been honored as one of the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce 25 Most Powerful Women and a Girl Scouts Woman of Distinction.
Maye Cordero, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, has spent 18 years in the marketing, communications and entertainment industries. In addition to her current post as director of marketing and events for the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, she also is a graphic designer and photographer.
Rebecca Givens, a partner at the Moye White law firm, has practiced law for over 30 years. She volunteers for CBCA’s Colorado Attorneys for the Arts program and is on the board of the Performing Arts Academy.
Nathan Gulash, an associate with Semple Brown Design, has been an architect and manager for 15 years, handling projects ranging from renovations of historic structures to highly detailed custom homes. He’s also a past president of the American Institute of Architects Denver.
Meredith Leighty, mayor of Northglenn and principal of Belmar School of Integrated Arts in the Jefferson County Public Schools. A Colorado native and mother of two, Leighty also trained one of her dogs to be a therapy dog at her school.
Brian Loo. Prior to becoming vice president of operations development, quality and standards at Meow Wolf, Loo was a design developer for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and Walt Disney Imagineering, where he was creative producer for “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.”
Rashel Meiworm, managing director/people advisory services, for EY. Her areas of expertise include remote work, flexible work arrangements, and mobility-related consultation.
About the organization: Colorado Business Committee for the Arts was founded in 1985 to forge partnerships between business and the arts through year-round advocacy, research, training and arts engagement efforts. It works to advance Denver and Colorado as cultural hubs and validate the arts as an integral part of the regional economy.
