WATCH | Colorado Politics 2024 Legislative Preview and Colorado Conversation on aging

Viewers from around the state joined Colorado Politics and the Denver Gazette the morning of Dec. 8 for a legislative preview with four members of the Colorado General Assembly, followed by an expert panel discussion on aging, sponsored by AARP Colorado.

Luige del Puerto, editor for the Denver Gazette and Colorado Politics, led a panel discussion with the state’s legislative leaders, including:

  • Sen. Steve Fenberg, president of the Colorado State Senate
  • Sen. Paul Lundeen, Republican leader in the Colorado State Senate 
  • Rep. Julia McCluskie, Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives 
  • Rep. Mike Lynch, Minority Leader, Colorado House of Representatives

The legislative preview was followed immediately by the Denver Gazette’s Colorado Conversations series and included the following experts:  

  • Elizabeth Garner, Colorado state demographer
  • Samar Jha,  AARP national government affairs team
  • Elizabeth Moran – Executive director at The Arc of Colorado 
  • Jayla Sanchez-Warren – Director for Area Agency on Aging at DRCOG
  • Susan Pappas  – Consultant in Assisted Living & Memory Care at Juniper Communities
