RTD to hold community meetings on proposed service changes for June

RTD will hold a series of community meetings Tuesday and Wednesday to allow the public to provide feedback on the company’s proposed service changes for this summer.

The changes, to go into effect in June, would modify schedules, routes and/or boarding locations for the bus routes 8, 9, 12, 15, 20, 21, 24, 28, 34, 37, 38, 40, 43, 44, 49, 72, 88, 88L, 93L, 104L, 120L, 153, 323, 324, 326, 520, BOUND, BOLT and RX.

The changes would also reinstate the previously suspended bus routes 99, 169L and 483.

In addition, RTD is also proposing schedule adjustments for the light rail’s E Line, L Line and W Line.

In a statement, RTD said the proposed changes would enhance its services, address connectivity and maintain resources to support social distancing on RTD vehicles during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“RTD will continue to monitor routes and make ongoing adjustments to accommodate social distancing on busier routes,” the statement read. “Customers must also continue to wear masks.”

These service changes come after RTD previously modified its service plan at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020 and again in January 2021, accounting for lower customer traffic and increased distancing needs.

Details of the proposed changes for each route and line are available at rtd-denver.com.

Three hourlong community feedback meetings will be held virtually Tuesday at noon, Wednesday at noon and Wednesday at 5 p.m. To participate, community members can use Microsoft Teams or call in to the meetings.

Links and phone numbers for each meeting are available at rtd-denver.com/service-changes/june-2021.

For those who cannot attend the meetings, feedback on the proposed changes can also be submitted by emailing service.changes@rtd-denver.com or by calling 303-299-2004.
