The Pueblo Chieftain: Keep a guardian on duty
Apparently, there are utility companies operating in Colorado that would rather not see Frances Koncilja reappointed to another term on the Public Utilities Commission. Which means that Koncilja definitely needs to be reappointed to another term on the Public Utilities Commission.
This week, the Pueblo City Council unanimously approved a resolution urging Gov. Jared Polis to give Koncilja another four-year term on the board, which is responsible for reviewing rate requests and other important issues concerning the regulated utilities operating within our state.
“While Commissioner Koncilja has been fair to the utilities regulated by the PUC, she has not been afraid to speak up when the proposed rates and policies of utilities are not just and reasonable,” Mayor Nick Gradisar wrote in the resolution approved by the council. “Because Koncilja has been vigilant in protecting the rights of consumers, many regulated utilities are urging Gov. Polis not to reappoint her to a second term on the PUC.”
