Colorado state senate candidate’s truck shot in apparently random act

FORT COLLINS – Authorities say a candidate for state senate’s truck was shot last week in an apparently random attack.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported that a spokesman for the Larimer County Sheriff said the investigation is just beginning but that the shooting appears random. Democrat Rebecca Cranston says a bullet went through her truck as she sat in her driveway talking on her cell phone last week. She was not injured.

Investigators are probing two other shootings in the vicinity from May and June and trying to see if they’re related.

Cranston is running for an open state Senate seat representing the area outside of Fort Collins.
