Beer Institute to Buck: Here’s to you

Let’s face it – some awards mean more than others. And some are just a bit more fun.

Case in point: Colorado’s Republican U.S. Rep. Ken Buck has been named one of the Beer Institute’s “2018 Beer Champions” due to “his leadership in championing policies that provide tax relief for all brewers and beer importers,” according to a Wednesday press release from the trade association.

Buck’s “tireless efforts” garner support for “policies that enable our nation’s breweries and beer importers to continue to innovate, ensuring they can quench the thirst for America’s most popular alcohol beverage,” said Jim McGreevy, the institute’s president.

“I look forward to continuing to work with him on issues that will allow brewers and beer importers of all sizes to create even more good-paying jobs in America.”

The release also included kudos from Doug Bailey, vice president of federal affairs at Anheuser-Busch.

“We appreciate all he does to support American manufacturing and jobs in the beer industry,” Bailey said in the release, adding that the company applauds Buck’s efforts to “press for transparency in aluminum pricing, and for supporting tax relief for American brewers.”

Now there’s an award you can raise a glass to.
