Millennial Policy Center gives conservative take on free trade
The conservative Millennial Policy Center has a lot on its collective mind about foreign trade.
The Denver-based think tank that engages younger voters released five policy reports on trade on the subject Monday. The center’s Free Trade Project breaks down American-Chinese trade negotiations, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and how free trade affects millennials.
“Free trade and trade agreements are fundamental to economic opportunity and prosperity for millennials who seek to be successful as they launch and grow their careers,” Jimmy Sengenberger, the policy center’s president, said in statement.
“Trade wars, tariffs, quotas, scrapping the North American Free Trade Agreement – all of these actions are counter to those ends. It is imperative that Generation Y, which favors free trade by broad margins – continues to advocate for sensible trade policies.”
Sengenberger co-authored the reports with Jacob Dubbert, the Millennial Policy Center’s economic opportunity and fiscal policy fellow.
