Latino Advocacy Day(s) Sunday and Monday in Denver

Advocates for Latino and Latina causes will be at the state Capitol in Denver Monday, but on Sunday they’ll be getting ready.

The day to impress lawmakers attracted about 200 people last year. Those who want to brush up on the issues and how to present them can get that training Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at North High School in Denver, via the 32nd Avenue entrance.

Monday there will be a rally on the west steps of the Capitol at 12:30 p.m. From 1 to 3 p.m. advocates will seek out their respective legislators to discuss “reproductive justice, immigrant justice, environmental justice, economic justice and more,” according to the coalition of organizers.

A closing reception with Latino and Latina officials is planned from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at 100% de Agave in Denver, with appetizers provided.
