The Pueblo Chieftain: Pushing back against bullying
Talk about having the right idea at the right time. The Pueblo County Youth Advisory Council, made up of young men and women ages 13 to 22, is launching an initiative to combat bullying and the mental health issues associated with it.
The council successfully wrote an application for a Dare to Dream America grant. The $2,500 in funding will help defray expenses associated with the initiative, which will include production of an anti-bullying video and student surveys taken at two area high schools.
The timing may have been coincidental, but this is an excellent project for the council to tackle at a time when the country is in mourning after yet another school shooting.
