The Pueblo Chieftain: Limit home pot grows

A new Colorado law, House Bill 1220, will go into effect with the new year on Monday to impose a limit of 12 marijuana plants that may be grown or cultivated legally in households in residential zones. To exceed the limit now will be a criminal offense.

Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor and County Commissioner Sal Pace worked together to help pass the legislation. They worked with the governor’s office on drafting the bill and both testified before the Colorado General Assembly in support of it.

“It has been a pleasure working with Sheriff Taylor on this project,” Pace said. “There are proper locations for industrial cannabis grows and there are places where these grows shouldn’t occur, like residential neighborhoods.”
