The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel: BOE endorsements

Ballots are in the mail and so we begin the process of giving readers our perspective on local races and ballot measures.

We’ve had the pleasure of meeting individually with the four candidates vying for two seats on the District 51 Board of Education.

Our endorsements are based on which candidates are best qualified to help the district navigate the challenges of implementing a district-wide performance-based learning curriculum – especially with the financial challenges the district is facing. If voters fail to pass the bond issue and mill-levy override (both of which the editorial board supports) the challenge for the school board – and all of us – will be greater.
