Mayor Michael Hancock, others in Denver delegation visit to England OK after London explosion

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and others in a delegation from the city visiting England this week are OK after an explosion on a packed London subway during rush hour Friday morning.

“City of Denver delegation safe after alleged terrorist incident,” Hancock said in a tweet. “Pray for affected individuals and their families.”

At least 18 people were hurt in what British authorities are calling a terrorist attack, the fifth in the U.K. this year. Photos taken inside the train show a white plastic bucket inside a foil-lined shopping bag. Flames and what appear to be wires emerge from the top.
