The Pueblo Chieftain editorial: Pot store opposition

The Pueblo City-County Library District has good reason to oppose a recreational marijuana store application right across the street from the main library. The main library is located at 100 E. Abriendo and the proposed pot shop would do business at 105 E. Abriendo – too close to the library and virtually next door to a popular Mesa Junction family restaurant in the same block.

The library has served generations of Puebloans whose hearts and minds have been nourished by all the learning and entertaining resource material there.

Jon Walker, director of the library district, made public his institution’s objections to the license application from Karson Berckstrom, whose choice of location for a marijuana business is peculiar.
