The Pueblo Chieftain editorial: Doss Aviation

Pueblo received some very good news earlier this month.

Doss Aviation has been awarded a $290 million 10-year contract extension to continue providing Air Force initial flight training at Pueblo Memorial Airport, according to the Pentagon.

As reported in The Chieftain, Doss has been providing initial screening for all Air Force pilots, navigators and remotely piloted aircraft for the past decade. Its new contract also calls for it to provide training for some international military students.

“That’s the best news I’ve heard this year,” Pueblo City Council President Steve Nawrocki said. “So many people in the community worked hard to help keep Doss here. That’s very gratifying to know they are going to continue to provide that training here in Pueblo.”
