Democrats, convinced that social media is real life, are now telling staffers to put Chinese spyware on their phones so they can win elections.

At a Democratic lunch, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) urged Democrats to embrace TikTok as a messaging tool, saying staff should download the app on their personal devices. A spokesman for Booker said that he wants Democrats “to engage with people on the platform, including encouraging Senators to work with TikTok creators directly,” saying that “It’s vital for Democrats to bring our messages to Americans in the places where they get information.”

Of course, the staffers would have to download TikTok on their personal devices because the social media app is banned on government devices, as it is a security risk. The app is owned by a Chinese company that is both legally and voluntarily devoted to cooperating with the Chinese Communist Party. The app has been caught circumventing Apple and Google app store protections, logging users’ keystrokes, and tracking the locations of American journalists.

TikTok has been caught doing all these things because it is a Chinese spyware app. It has been banned from federal government devices, several state government devices, and government devices of other countries. In 2020, Wells Fargo banned the app from company devices as well. Congress voted to ban the app if the Chinese company that owned it did not sell it to someone who isn’t aligned with the CCP. Cory Booker is one of the many people who know exactly what the app is.

And yet, he is still calling on Democratic staffers to put the app on their own devices, opening the door for the CCP to access their phones and data. That is because Booker thinks voters live on social media, where they absorb his overgrown theater kid antics and become reliable voters for his future presidential campaign. Sure, Democrats have been on TikTok for years, and yet they still suffered devastating losses in the 2024 elections. But Booker thinks that they can win over the youth if they just try a little bit harder.

TikTok should be banned. President Donald Trump’s disgraceful, illegal extensions for the app are a damning indictment against his administration. The same could be said of Democrats such as Booker, urging people to download Chinese spyware despite knowing how big a security threat it is.
