In every corner of Colorado — from the Western Slope to the Front Range — small businesses, contractors, and working families are asking for the same thing: a fair shot, a healthy economy, and leaders who have their backs. The One Big Beautiful Bill delivers exactly that, and it’s why the Associated Builders and Contractors Rocky Mountain proudly supports this commonsense, pro-growth package.

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national construction industry trade association with more than 24,000 members in 68 chapters across the country, including right here in Colorado. Our members are construction companies that believe in open competition, free enterprise, and rewarding hard work. Colorado contractors are your small business owners, project managers, and skilled trades professionals who help build everything from schools and roads to hospitals, housing, and job-creating commercial developments – building lasting futures in an industry that drives Colorado’s economy. And we believe the key to that is fair competition, where people succeed based on ability and performance, not barriers or politics, or political influence.

For Main Street businesses like ours, issues like tax certainty, regulatory relief, and a competitive economic environment aren’t abstract policy debates. They are the foundation of our ability to invest, grow, and keep Colorado building. The One Big Beautiful Bill recognizes that reality and makes long-overdue tax reforms that will fuel job creation, support working families, and strengthen local economies across our state.

The bill respects the men and women who put in the long hours to keep Colorado’s economy moving. Thanks to this bill, making overtime tax-free at the federal level means construction workers, electricians, welders, and hospitality employees will immediately keep more of what they earn.

Public safety matters to every Main Street business. No one’s investing in downtown storefronts, neighborhood diners, or local construction crews if crime and fentanyl trafficking are left unchecked. The One Big Beautiful Bill strengthens border security and supports law enforcement with new tools to fight the fentanyl crisis, helping to protect the communities where we work, raise families, and run businesses.

Finally, on the economic front, the One Big Beautiful Bill removes burdensome red tape, streamlines permitting and prioritizes infrastructure investment that benefits every Colorado community. These reforms mean faster project timelines, lower compliance costs, and more job opportunities for skilled tradesmen and women. And for companies like ABC members, this translates directly into more chances to bid fairly on projects, grow their businesses, and put more Coloradans to work.

Colorado’s independent builders, contractors, and small business owners are ready to get to work. The One Big Beautiful Bill clears that path — and now it’s time to build on this momentum for Colorado’s workers, families, and Main Street businesses.
