House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and House Republicans are holding a press conference ahead of the Senate’s vote on the Laken Riley Act.

The press conference is set to begin around 10 a.m.

The bipartisan Laken Riley Act would allow federal authorities to detain illegal immigrants accused of thefts and other crimes and make it easier to deport them. It has won the support of many Democrats.
