PUBLIC EDUCATION & BUSINESS COALITION
Denver
News: Those attending the Nov. 14 Evening to Elevate Educators are advised to prepare for a trip down memory lane as School Picture Day is the theme for this fundraiser for the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC).
“Dust off those charming outfits that our moths adored and join us in recapturing the innocence and joy of childhood,” reads the invitation to this 6 p.m. event held at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. “It’s a perfect opportunity to relive those fond memories while showing support for the educators who transform our classrooms into spaces of equal opportunity.”
Some 300 friends of the PEBC are expected to attend, raising a hoped-for $150,000 to support the 100-plus teachers enrolled in PEBC’s Teacher Residency Program each year, 35 percent of whom identify as teachers of color. The money also goes to PEBC’s Professional Learning program that enhances classroom instruction nationwide and to school districts across Colorado that receive increased financial support thanks to PEBC’s Policy Team.
Admission to Evening to Elevate Educators is free for all PK – 12 educators and $75 for friends of PEBC. Online registration can be accomplished by visiting pebc.org
Sponsors include DaVita, Suffolk Property Management, Westerra Credit Union, Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell, Aurora Public Schools, Chevron, Alpine Bank, the Boettcher Foundation, 1st Bank, Kaiser Permanente, Adams 12 Five Star Schools, CareerWise Colorado, Cherry Creek Schools, Teach for America and the Colorado Rural Schools Alliance.
