Pro-Trump Super PAC aims to revitalize campaign with $100 million ad buy

A pro-Trump Super PAC is working to bolster the Trump campaign with a $100 million ad blitz.

The campaign, announced in an internal memo from MAGA and seen by Politico, will focus on the period before Labor Day. It will target the key swing states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.

A person familiar with the group said the ads will hit Vice President Kamala Harris’s immigration record and her time as a prosecutor.

The person didn’t specify whether attacks on her record as prosecutor will focus on being too lenient or accuse her of locking up innocent people, two differing messages that people within and adjacent to the Trump campaign have used.

A person familiar with the group told the outlet that MAGA has accounted for the majority of the $120 million raised since July 15, the day when the Republican National Convention began.

After months of former President Donald Trump outraising President Joe Biden’s fledgling presidential campaign, the president’s withdrawal and endorsement of Harris saw a surge of backed-up funds flow to Democrats — over $200 million in the first week. Harris saw another fundraising boom after announcing Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) as her running mate, raising $36 million within 24 hours.

Buoyed by increased enthusiasm and positive press coverage, Harris’s campaign has changed the calculus of the Trump campaign, turning what seemed to be a cruise to victory for the former president into a toss-up. Polls show Harris and Trump closely matched.

Putin: Ukraine raid into Russia could expand beyond Kursk region

Russia‘s border region authorities must prepare for the possibility that Ukraine‘s military brass expands a dramatic raid beyond Kursk Oblast, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin. “It is obvious for us that the enemy will continue trying to destabilize the situation in the border regions in order to destabilize the domestic political situation in Russia,” Putin said during a broadcast meeting with regional governors. “Therefore, […]
