The Pueblo Chieftain: Our picks for council races
We believe that the Pueblo City Council, like many organizations, can benefit from a mixture of youth and experience. That is why we are recommending one newcomer and two experienced hands for the three open seats on the council.
First, there’s the at-large seat, which is chosen by voters citywide. For this position, we favor Lindsay Reeves. Although this is her first time running for elected office, we believe her intelligence, thoughtful approach to decision making and potential to work as a consensus builder on the council give her an advantage over the other five candidates running for the seat.
Reeves, 30, currently is the director of early childhood programs for the Catholic Charities Diocese of Pueblo. She’s worked for other nonprofit organizations as well, including Health Solutions and Pueblo Triple Aim. She’s also served on the boards of directors for The McClelland School and the Pueblo Latino Chamber of Commerce.
