The Pueblo Chieftain: Electric study’s shocking conclusion

The results from a study on the feasibility of Pueblo dumping Black Hills Energy and starting its own municipal electric utility are in.

According to EES Consulting, the private firm that was paid $122,000 in taxpayer money to conduct the study, it’s feasible.

That’s about as unsurprising as looking to the west and seeing mountains on the horizon. Of course EES thinks it’s a good idea for Pueblo to get into the electricity business. But only after two more detailed studies are conducted, presumably by EES at additional cost to the city’s residents.
