Lost in the shuffle of former superintendent Ken Haptonstall’s unceremonious exit from Mesa County Valley School District 51 was the stability factor.

The Board of Education certainly knew it needed a chief executive to take the helm of a rudderless ship – and they found a good one in Diana Sirko who has earned kudos as a stabilizing force.
