Denver Council President Brooks’ cancer surgery successful
Albus Brooks is well on his way to beating cancer – again.
After sharing word late last month he had been diagnosed with cancer for a second time, the Denver City Council president tweeted a video Wednesday noting his surgery to remove a tumor was successful.
“Fresh out of surgery,” Brooks said in the video. “Doing well.”
Brooks, who represents Denver’s District 9, said the tumor was a little bigger than initially thought, but the good news is, the cancer didn’t spread.
In the video, an upbeat Brooks said he’d be back in the city in a couple days and cheered the Cleveland Cavaliers and Lebron James after a playoff win this week.
Last year, Brooks celebrated winning a battle with Chondrosarcoma, a rare form of cancer of the bone. He had a 15-pound malignant tumor in his back removed, after two surgeries lasting some 20 hours.
