This Week at the Capitol: March 5-9

MONDAY

Colorado Independent Ethics Commission, 9 a.m. Colorado Judicial Building, 1300 Broadway, room 1B

NOTE: commission meetings are not broadcast.

A final decision is expected on the ethics complaint against Sen. Vicki Marble. Background here.

Senate Bill 005, economic development coordination for rural communities with job losses

Senate Bill 010, requiring landlords to provide copies of leases to tenants and written receipts for cash payment of rent.

 

TUESDAY

The General Assembly has scheduled a light day for Tuesday due to precinct caucuses and to give rural lawmakers enough time to get back to their districts. 

 

WEDNESDAY

House Finance Committee, upon adjournment, LSB-A

House Bill 1001, creation of a family and medical leave insurance program. Background here.

Senate Agriculture, Natural Resources and Energy Committee, Room 357

House Bill 1071, putting into state law the Colorado Court of Appeals decision in Martinez v. Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission and requiring the COGCC to “regulate oil and gas operations in a mannerconsistent with the protection of public health, safety, and welfare, including the protection of theenvironment and wildlife resources.” The Attorney General has appealed the decision to the Colorado Supreme Court. House State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, LSB-A

House Bill 1150, requiring local governments that ban fracking to compensate mineral rights owners.

 

THURSDAY

House Judiciary Committee, 1:30 p.m., Room 112

House Bill 1204, increases the penalties for driving without insurance.
