Sorry to break the news to you, Colorado, but you're nothing special. That's the findings of a new ranking on diversity by the data-crunching website WalletHub.

The Centennial State ranks 18th for overall diversity when examining data related to several subcategories that put Colorado neither near the top nor bottom.

Researchers examined information related to socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household, religious and political diversity.

Colorado ranked third for disparity in education, fifth for birthplace diversity and eighth for diversity in educational attainment.

The state ranked only 45th for occupational diversity and 24th for racial diversity.

California, Texas and Hawaii topped the list for overall diversity, while Vermont, Maine and West Virginia were at the bottom.
