Colorado Springs educator Mary Bradfield hopes to be the Republican to replace state Rep. Lois Landgraf in the state House next year.
She formally announced her candidacy in the House District 21 race last week. So far, she faces Ray Garcia in the GOP primary.
“Fountain Valley is a thriving, growing community and a good place to raise a family," Bradfield said in a statement. "I want to serve our community to ensure we continue on that path with opportunities for success for all of us.”
Her top issues are affordable housing, mental health and public safety, who supports business, limited government and local control.
Bradfield has lived in Colorado Springs since 1984 and was a local teacher for more than 20 years.
She has been a Republican precinct leader, division leader and officer in her House district and commission district.
Before resigning to run for office, Bradfield was in her second term as vice chair of the El Paso County Republican Party, after two terms as its secretary.
