Colorado politicians are offering statements on social media in remembrance of Sept. 11.
Sen. Michael Bennet wrote on Twitter that the "time of immense darkness" was brightened by the heroes who saved lives.
Our hearts are heavy as we remember that fateful morning. As we honor the innocent lives taken at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, & on Flight 93, as well as those we lost to 9/11-related illnesses, we also reflect on America’s hope & resilience in the wake of this tragedy.— Michael Bennet (@SenatorBennet) September 11, 2019
Sen. Cory Gardner also conveyed appreciation for the first responders, as well as the military for their ongoing service.
We are not united by our shared enemies, but by our belief in the resilience and quiet strength of America. May God continue to bless this great country as we reflect on 9/11 and look forward to a future brighter than ever. #NeverForget pic.twitter.com/wawUSjk4Tc— Cory Gardner (@CoryGardner) September 11, 2019
Former Gov. John Hickenlooper expressed similar sentiment while referencing the hashtag #NeverForget.
