Senate President Leroy Garcia spent last Saturday knocking on doors in his Pueblo County district, just as many political candidates on the campaign trail do.

The problem is, Garcia isn’t up for re-election this year. Voters in Senate District 3 gave the Pueblo Democrat a convincing victory last year in his campaign against Libertarian candidate John Pickerill.

Garcia received 39,768 votes, compared to Pickerill’s 14,253. That’s a margin of 3-1.
