A new charter school scheduled to open this year near the Colorado State University-Pueblo campus has replaced its executive director. However, that apparently is going to be only a minor setback for the K-5 school.
Logan Gogarty, the founder and driving force behind the Villa Bella Expeditionary School, was removed as executive director following his arrest on domestic violence charges. He has been replaced in the job by Jessica Ortiz.
Officials from Pueblo County School District 70 and the school’s board of directors would not comment on Gogarty’s removal. However, one of the school’s developers said the personnel change hasn’t affected plans to open the school on Aug. 12.
