As much creative problem-solving as state officials and lawmakers are throwing at high health-care costs, the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing has isolated one factor that should be considered a bullseye for cost containment.

It's a finding that fits squarely within the mission of the Polis administration's newly created Office of Saving People Money on Health Care — that Colorado hospitals are making healthy profits on the backs of commercial ratepayers.
