Denver police officers have arrested a suspect in the Jan. 27 break-in at the Colorado state Capitol.
Elias Anthony Dominguez was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary on Friday, the Denver Police Department said.
Authorities said the 26-year-old entered the state Capitol and broke several sculptures, display cabinets, chairs and signage.
Arrest documents say Dominguez also used a fire extinguisher along the south side of the main level of the Capitol.
According to Denver police, two people identified Dominguez as the man who entered the Capitol based on the building's surveillance footage.
Police say the video showed the man entering the building through a broken security door on Jan. 27 around 2:30 a.m., breaking several bust sculptures, throwing other items off a second-floor balcony and waving at a security camera in the elevator.
Court records say police are testing blood found inside the building for DNA.
