We were tipped off a few days ago by a deep background source (Lynn Bartels) that former Republican state House Majority Leader Amy Stephens, of Colorado Springs, would be using the inauguration of our 45th president as a pretext for an all-gals road trip worthy of a chick flick. (Yes, we’re embellishing.) So, we asked Stephens to text us some updates from the Big Event. She made the trip with her pals, state Rep. Polly Lawrence, R-Littleton, and Capitol lobbyist Shannon McNulty, of Highlands Ranch, who among other endeavors is married to former GOP House Speaker Frank McNulty.
Stephens obliged with some fun photos of the traveling trio’s trek to the inauguration ceremony and parade in Washington this morning. They look effervescent and well-rested, don’t you think? Hmm. Either they’re not getting into the true spirit of the festivities, or they just know how to party and get away with it.
Stephens also shared a photo of herself and Lawrence along the inaugural parade route in front of the Canadian embassy. It kinda looks like they were seeking asylum, but we’ll assume it was just a good spot to catch a glimpse of The Donald. We shared that one with the Twitter-sphere:
