Denver Mayor Michael Hancock responded to reports that the White House floated the idea of busing detained migrants from the border to so-called "sanctuary cities" and dropping them off.

Hancock said President Donald Trump “sees these individuals as political pawns and not as human beings who are fleeing very dangerous, violent situations in their home countries.”

When asked how the city would handle such a plan, Hancock pointed out that Immigration and Customs Enforcement rejected the plan, and that any migrant that showed up would be welcomed as best the city could. He said the president is clearly playing a game.
