Democrats' campaign bus tour sets stops in Denver metro area Monday

The Colorado Democratic Party’s big blue campaign bus is back in the Denver metro area after making more than a dozen stops across the Western Slope and in Southern Colorado.

The tour — meant to encourage voters to turn in ballots while drumming up publicity for Democratic candidates — includes six stops Monday in Denver, Broomfield and Boulder, the party announced.

The cast of candidates and liberal luminaries varies from stop to stop, though lieutenant governor nominee Dianne Primavera and former Houston Mayor Annise Parker are each scheduled to appear at all but one of the day’s stops. Other Democrats who will be riding the bus Monday include gubernatorial nominee Jared Polis, Gov. John Hickenlooper, Lt. Gov. Donna Lynne and former State Treasurer Cary Kennedy.

The tour kicked off last Tuesday in Denver ahead of the final debate between Polis and Republican nominee Walker Stapleton. The next day, the bus accompanied Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders to Boulder and Fort Collins for rallies.
