Denver's Biennial of the Americas Festival has announced the speakers who will be addressing its theme of "Empathy in Action" next month.
Business magnate and space entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson will be featured at "The Business of Empathy" on Sept. 26, discussing his career highlights and his entrepreneurial spirit, according to a news release.
Author Michael Ventura will lead a workshop Sept. 27 on the methodology in his book "Applied Empathy."
There will also be a series of nine clinics offered throughout the festival, which focus on topics like education, housing, transportation and more.
The Denver nonprofit works to celebrate the cultural and economic connections between North and South America, as well as explore solutions to shared challenges.
“We’re excited to offer so many engaging, innovative, diverse and creative speakers at this year’s Biennial of the Americas Festival,” said Erin Trapp, CEO and executive director of Biennial of the Americas. “We’ve worked closely with both our local and international community to determine the topics that are most relevant and important in the challenges and opportunities that we face across the Americas.”
The festival begins Sept. 25 and ends Sept. 28 with a free event at Civic Center Park entitled Cósmico Americas.
