After being closed for the 2020 season because of COVID-19, Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park in Denver will reopen at 18% capacity next month, officials announced Monday.
Elitch Gardens, located in the Auraria neighborhood downtown, is set to reopen to season pass holders on April 24 and April 25 and to the general public on May 1.
The park has been approved to operate with 3,200 guests at a time — approximately 18% capacity for the 62-acre park.
“All of us at Elitch Gardens are extremely excited to be able to once again deliver the kind of outstanding family fun we’ve been known for over the past 130 years,” said David Dorman, Elitch Gardens general manager.
To help monitor in-park attendance and keep guest totals below 3,200, all guests will be required to make reservations to visit the park.
In addition, the park will follow new health and safety guidelines, including verbal symptom screenings before entering, regular cleaning and disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces and social distancing in lines and on rides.
Face masks are required to be worn at all times inside the park, expect for guests 2 years old and younger and those partaking in water attractions.
Guests will also be required to use hand sanitizer before boarding rides, which will be made available through numerous free hand sanitizer stations throughout the park.
Elitch Gardens season passes are available at elitchgardens.com. One-day tickets and reservations will be available for sale in the coming weeks.
The park is also looking to fill openings for 1,500 season jobs, including positions in ride operations, food service, retail, games, guest services, security, aquatics and internships. Jobs are open to those 16 and older.
