Empower Field, Red Rocks, Coors Field and Denver's other outdoor events spaces have been given the go-ahead to fully open their doors for the first time since the pandemic began, the city announced Tuesday.

The order removes all capacity restrictions for outdoor events and venues, completely removing the restrictions that had been loosened in recent weeks. Even indoor events, which have been curtailed sharply over the past 14 months, will no longer need state permission, so as long as they're capped at 2,000 participants.

Red Rocks' concert goers and fans at Broncos and Rockies games "now have no capacity limits, distancing requirements or other restrictions," the city wrote on its website announcing the changes.

There is still a limited mask order in effect. The city wrote that people 3 years of age and older who aren't vaccinated still must wear masks in "hospitals, schools, childcare centers, summer camps, jail, prisons and Colorado Department of Motor Vehicle offices."

The masking component follows the latest state health order, announced Monday, which requires the unvaccinated to wear masks in those settings. The state's mask order is different, in that it allows children under the age of 12 to go without a mask, according to a state Department of Public Health and Environment release.
