JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT-ROCKY MOUNTAIN

News: Fundraising dinners abound in these parts, and the one that’s hard to beat is All in Good Taste. This benefit for Junior Achievement-Rocky Mountain is presented by Huntington Bank and held at the Orchard Road location of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse. 

Tickets are always snapped up in a flash, which comes as no surprise because Junior Achievement supporters know they’ll be treated to a fabulous meal and the opportunity to bid in a silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items and experiences. 

Things like a trip to California that includes four tickets to a Mumford & Sons concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View and a two-day stay at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco; a five-day Palm Springs getaway and a trip to California’s Sonoma County wine country that includes two nights at Silverado Resort and two nights at The Lodge at Sonoma, along with golf and dinner at two top rated restaurants. 

These items, and more, brought in bids totaling $107,000. 

The 23rd edition of All in Good Taste was held on Aug. 16. 

It was bittersweet in that it was the last one that Robin Wise will attend as JA’s president and chief executive officer. She will retire at year’s end. 

Wise has led the organization since 1991. A national search for her successor is underway. 

Under her leadership, JA-Rocky Mountain has expanded the number of students served from 8,000 to 119,317 in 658 schools and 89 school districts. She also oversaw the development of three innovative additions to the JA campus in Greenwood Village: The Robert and Judi Newman JA Finance Park, presented by Transamerica; the JA Free Enterprise Center, the Daniels Fund JA Dream Accelerator. 

In July, her contributions were recognized when she received the 2026 Charles R. Hook Award at Junior Achievement’s National Leadership Conference held in Salt Lake City. 

Among the guests: Bill Mosher, who recently stepped down as Denver’s chief projects officer and his wife, Molly Broeren; Earl Wright, co-founder and chief executive officer of AMG National Trust and his friend, Sandy Smith; retired banker Ron Tilton; Barry and Arlene Hirschfeld (his family are Colorado Business Hall of Fame inductees); Evan and Evi Makovsky (he’s the managing partner and managing broker of NAI Shames Makovsky); Christel Dikeman, retired vice president/general manager of Neiman Marcus Cherry Creek; JA board chair Darrin Foster; and Margot Gilbert Frank, who hosted a table with friends Mark Cordova and Lynn Dolven, who are to be married on Aug. 20; Garage Sale Millionaire author Aaron LaPedis and his wife, Sandee; and consultant Stan Sena and his wife, attorney Sarah Powers Sena.
